Where BabyCenter is better

  • Every article is free, and its birth preferences tool makes a PDF for your provider at no cost. In MyPregnancy the full article library and the PDF for the midwife are part of Plus.
  • A community with Birth Clubs grouped by due month. MyPregnancy has no community.
  • An Android app, support back to iOS 17, a Spanish version, and the same app continues after the baby is born.

Where MyPregnancy is better

  • No sign-up to start. BabyCenter’s FAQ says you need a BabyCenter account to use the app.
  • No ads, and no data used to track you. BabyCenter shows ads, and its App Store privacy label lists contact info, identifiers, usage data and sensitive info as used to track you.
  • An Apple Watch app, with Plus. BabyCenter’s listing names iPhone, iPad and Mac only.

Who each one suits

BabyCenter: Parents who want free labor tools and a due-month community, and who accept a required account and ads.

MyPregnancy: Someone who wants the same labor tools without an account, ads or ad tracking, or with the timer on Apple Watch.

The short answer

BabyCenter does most of what MyPregnancy does for free, with a community on top, in return for an account, ads and data used for advertising. MyPregnancy is for someone who would rather not make that trade, or wants the timer on Apple Watch.

Facts about MyPregnancy are from its pricing page. MyPregnancy records and measures; neither app replaces your midwife or doctor.
